Part of my work is to bring academic knowledge to a broader audience. I regularly give talks on Syrian history, politics, and society, and how the making of the Middle East relates to contemporary developments in the region. I speak to a variety of audiences, from NGOs to bookstores as well as universities, thinktanks, policymakers, and diplomats.
